Many people assume that seeing a vascular surgeon means they'll need surgery. What would you tell patients who are worried about that?

A referral to a vascular surgeon doesn't automatically mean surgery is necessary. In fact, a large part of what we do is focused on nonoperative, conservative therapies to improve vascular health. Many conditions can be managed with the right combination of exercise, diet, medication, and lifestyle changes. Out goal is always to find the least invasive, most effective approach for each patient.
